Bought another parts car.
1978 Chevrolet Corvette Silver Anniversary Edition.
Car has a rusty frame and bad finish. Engine, transmission, brakes,
and the rear suspension is in good condition. There should be plenty good parts to save.

Off to pick it up.

On our way back we saw interesting lines under a car cover.

Had to check it out.

Nice!

Got it home, tearing it apart

Plenty coins under the seat.

Restoring the steeringwheel center knob

New wheel trim rings and center caps followed the car.

A rusty front window frame is a typical weak spot on C3 Corvettes
You don't want this surprice. When buying a C3 always check the window frame for rust.

Engine and transmission from the '78 parts car.

Parts car coming to use.

Replacing a leaky power steering control valve.

This one came from the '78 and worked just fine.

Replacing the seat adjuster knobs.
The red plastic knobs gives way to cromed steel knobs from the '75 Corvette parts car.

Replacing the seatback release knob on the passenger seat, had bad crome.
The good one came from the '75 parts car... It's in the details right? :-)

The brake calipers on all four wheels looks relatively new.
Same for the brake lines, and the brake disks looks new too.

Replacing a noisy clutch system on the cooling fan.

Drain plug for the battery "box".
Came from the parts car, was missing on our the '78.

Inspecting, cleaning and painting the parts car engine.
To be stored as a spare engine for wherever it will fit.
Looks good inside, no dirt at all. Hope it's a good one.
