Former 9C1 - Police option cars

Owner: Bob Marks from Lakeland, Florida - USA

Originally equipped with a 4.3L Vortec V-6 with
throttle-body injection and a GM4L60e 4-speed automatic transmission.
Now it has a 5.7L LT-1 V8-engine from a Pontiac Trans Am and a rebuilt 4L60e auto trans.

I also added a set Caltec-style traction bars
and a full set of 4-wheel disc brakes from a 2000 Chevy Blazer.

Next phase is even more power - A 383 cu.in stroker motor is planned and maybe a turbo or supercharger.

1958 Ford Prefect, English Ford 4-door. Falling apart at 10,000 miles! It was a piece of junk!!!
1958 Volvo PV444. It was one of the first 4 that came to this country with their new 4-speed transmission.
The next shipment of them was on a freighter that sank in New York harbor! I bought this car to replace the Prefect.

This was in Burlington, Wisconsin in 1958.
It was called an "English Trial." It was put on by the Midwest Sports Car Club,
which was a Chicago branch of the SCCA. At that time, a "road" was cut "over the river
and thru the woods" by a large bulldozer. The contestants then had to run this road individually,
as a timed event, without encountering any of the hazards along the way; like sliding off the road,
and falling into a ravine, or drifting into a tree right at the edge of the bulldozed path. It was a run and
a lesson in how to put dents into your nice ride! When I was young and foolish, with my BRAND-NEW Volvo.
