Weekend in Tønsberg, Norway

Photos by Hans Tore Tangerud

Sunday.
Out sightseeing with our local Tønsberg "motorcycle" friends Hilde and Morten.
Heading out to a WW2 historic site (oil refinery) held by the Germans to the end of the war.
The refinery was bombed in 1945 by 100 B-17 Flying Fortress bombers. Check out the story of the bombing in this link

The oil refinery.

There is not much left here today, the locals call this place the Sahara.
At the far end of "the peninsula" there is an old fort that was active in the years 1808 - 1814.

Off to other locations.
