power equipment like power windows or seats as standard equipment. The “L” in
7523L indicates a long wheelbase Series 75 sedan used for livery service.
Commercial chassis were sold for funeral cars and hearses.

The Sedan de Ville 4-door
hardtop and the Eldorado Seville 2-door hardtop were new for 1956. The Sedan de Ville was introduced as the
sister car to the Coupe de Ville. The Eldorado Seville was introduced as the
sister car to the Eldorado convertible. To distinguish between them, the
hardtop was named Seville and the convertible, previously known as just the
Eldorado, was now the Eldorado Biarritz.

New for 1959 were 4-Window
versions of the Series 62 Sedan and Sedan de Ville (In prior years, these had
been offered only as 6-Window models), which featured GM’s new “upper blade”
flat roof with a panoramic wraparound rear window.
The Eldorado Brougham was
designed and assembled for Cadillac by Pininfarina in Turin. As a result, its
series designation was changed from Series 70 (as it had been in 1957-58) to
Series 69. The 1959-60 Eldorado Broughams are known as the “Italian Broughams”
for this reason. They were discontinued in 1961.
