Today I installed a rear sway bar on my wifes car.
Trying this out in combination with the new composite spring.

Bad luck and plenty luck as well.
While testdriving the sway bar the speedometer died, at the same time it started to smell burnt plastic.
I stopped the car to check it out and found that the wire had fallen down onto the exhaustpipe and melted.
Resulting in the wire not able to rotate. Headed home to have a look at it, this is when I got the luck. At first
I was worried that the gears in the transmission was broken, but after removing the wire I found out that the wire was
broken (Picture). Changing a wire like this is usually not an easy task, accessing the back of the speedometer can be a
big problem, but luckily not on a '78 Corvette. All I had to remove was the cover below the steering wheel, only four screws
and then clear access to the wire. Next lucky move was when I checked my "collection" of spare parts and found that the wire
from the '81 Oldsmobile parts car (that I bought many years back) did fit on the Vette. So three hours later we are back on the road.
