Another hobby

These are farm engines and I have these 4.
The little red one doesn't use a spark plug!
They were used on the farm for everything except pulling the plow, the horse did that.
They ran electric generators, water pumps, hay hoists, feed mills, grist mills, sawmills, etc.
They are referred to as Hit & Miss or Pop-Pop engines. They don't have a throttle valve to control their speed.
Instead the governor opens a compression release which stops the run process and lets the engine free-wheel until
it has to fire 1 or 2 times to get the speed back up to 375 RPM. One will run 25-30 revolutions between explosions!!
We have hobby clubs for these similar to the antique car clubs. They are fascinating to watch. The ages span from 1912 to around 1925.
